Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka wins Player of the Year award!

Harry Kane and Declan Rice were beaten out for the England Men's Player of the Year award by Arsenal's Bukayo Saka.

The public vote determined the winner, with the Arsenal player taking first place, Rice coming in second, and Kane coming in third.

Since making his professional debut in 2020, Saka has developed into one of England's most talented players.

The award recipient has played for England in 18 different matches and has scored four goals.

Saka reacted to the heartbreak of the Euro 2020 final with his greatest season at Arsenal to date.

Saka totaled 11 Premier League goals and seven assists in the previous campaign.

Saka clarified after receiving the award:

I’m so happy, I can’t put it into words how happy I am.

“To play for England is special.

“To get picked to play for your country is another level of honour and proudness in yourself.

“You’re just happy every time you get to come here and put on the shirt and play at Wembley in front of all the fans, it’s a beautiful feeling.”

Saka has one goal and four assists in his first seven Premier League games this season, totaling five goal contributions.

The Arsenal team led by Mikel Arteta, who is presently atop the Premier League, has made the England international a crucial part of their lineup.

During this international break, England will play Italy and Germany in the Nations League, and Saka will be hoping to make a difference.

Currently ranked last in League A Group 3, England may go up if they have a run of successful performances.

Saka contributed to England's ability to qualify for the World Cup by scoring three goals during the qualifying stage.

The Arsenal rookie will be looking to make an impression in Qatar this year since he has yet to score his first goal at a major tournament.

When it comes to right-sided strikers, Gareth Southgate has many of alternatives since players like Saka, Jarrod Bowen, Jadon Sancho, Phil Foden, and Raheem Sterling can all fill that position.

However, it appears that Saka is the top choice at the moment since the England coach values what he provides to the squad.
