Luis Suarez will leave the Nacional next October. He had joined Uruguay with the aim of preparing for this winter's World Cup. In fact, it was already planned that the former Barça star would only stay at the club for a few months, as announced by its president:
"Suarez is indeed the best goalscorer in the history of Uruguayan football and the Nacional will allow him to stay fit for the World Cup. We both agreed to that, and he made a huge effort to come here. I say this to avoid generating fan expectations. Suarez will depart. We asked him, and he answered the same as before."
If Luis Suarez departs in October and has a successful World Cup, he might come back to Europe in January. The most likely place to go is Spain.
